Is it for you?

The American School of Acting is for students who are passionate and serious about growing as individuals and artists – not as performers. Our students embrace genuine challenges and they make huge progress. Don’t consider joining us if you’re not prepared to work, listen, and slowly build the skills that are taught in no other acting school in the UK – and which will make you a better artist and person. We highly recommend that you read our Training Philosophy.

Things to consider

The school is not a playgroup – although we do have ‘serious fun.’ This is a course, and the lessons build on each other. Which means that

  • you commit to attending all sessions,

  • you arrive on time for class,

  • you prepare or memorise assigned exercises, monologues or scenes by the given deadline.

The school will always be small with a maximum of 14 students joining each year.  Because of this we anticipate being oversubscribed. Therefore entry will be via monologue audition to take place in the summer of 2018 in Harrogate.
